5 Ways to Make Your Baby Cry

I have perfected a list of the top 5 ways to wake a sleeping baby & make them cry.

  1. Pour yourself a hot cup of coffee, take one sip - baby will wake & need to be held.
  2. Run a hot, relaxing bath. Get in the bath and take that first sigh of relief. Baby will start fussing about 1 minute into it.
  3. Pour milk into your cereal. Make sure it's a kind that turns to mush quickly.
  4. Start story time / bedtime for your older child.
  5. Tell someone that your baby never cries.

Week 1 Update

S0, the first week of my "organize my life challenge" didn't turn out as planned! First, my daughter spiked a 103 fever & we later found out she had strep. Ok - we can handle that. Next, I start feeling a little funny. Went to the Dr. immediately to see if I too had strep. Negative. About 2 hours after I leave the Dr. I get a fever, chills, aches, etc. Turns out I caught a stomach flu. I am convinced that I picked it up during my 3 hour wait at the pediatrician earlier in the week.

Given that I am 8.5 mos pregnant, I didn't bounce back from this little illness too well. My wonderful husband did everything for days ... even as he was feeling sick himself.

I am finally starting to feel like myself again & have gotten some decluttering done today. So, here's my progress report so far:

  • Created a "to do" list with red, yellow & green priority indicators (in excel, of course).
  • The "red" items are all things that must be done before this baby comes. Washing clothes, taxes, etc.
  • I have gotten a couple of red items done... but for some reason I've focused on the yellow & green more. I just cannot help myself!
I am getting ready to start another "red" item - washing baby blankets & bibs. Let's hope I don't get distracted between the computer and the washing machine.

5 Week Organizational Challenge

I have 5 weeks until baby #2 arrives & I need to get this house organized & decluttered. I've tried my hand at a few different home organization techniques. I've red the fly lady book at least 3 times & have tried to implement many of the suggestions & tips. Tried being the key word here.

So, Now that the Christmas decorations are finally put away... I am - giving the organized life another try. I'll be using this blog to update you on my progress over the next 5 weeks. Wish me luck!

Looking for My Passion

I am 32 and I am still searching for my passion in life. I have always liked a little bit of this & a little bit of that. But, I never have focused just on one thing. The closest I have gotten is my passion for spreadsheets. Terribly boring, I know. I still really do love spreadsheets, but don't spend too much time on them these days ( I am now a stay at home mom ).

I think part of my problem with finding my passion in life is that I must have a little bit of ADD. I just cannot seem to focus on one thing long enough to really dive into it. Other than spreadsheets. Maybe I was able to dive into spreadsheets because it was my job. These days I don't have enough time to truly dive into much... besides elmo & the wiggles.

My most recent venture is an online stationery & invitation store. It's led to many strong interests, but not one thing has stuck. I really got into SEO (search engine optimization) for a while there. Then, it was learning html and css. I moved on to learning to use Photoshop Elements and have dabbled in some very amature graphic design.

Recently, I've been trying my hand at digital scrapbooking. I have no real clue how to scrapbook digitally... but as with everything else, I am trying to figure it out on my own and learn through my mistakes.
